There are a few questions to answer – Is the property for my family to use or is it more of an investment and I will rent the property for most of the year?
If it is more for your holiday, it is a good idea to look for a place with a good connection for you. It can be further from the airport and therefore the price will be more attractive. Are you looking for a quieter, family-friendly place, or would you rather have a lively place? Do you prefer to play golf or a seaview? If you are planning to move to Spain permanently, it is a good idea to look for a place with all amenities, including schools, job opportunities, doctors, etc.
In the case of buying a property as an investment, the ideal location is a maximum of an hour from the international airport – Alicante for the Costa Blanca and Malaga for the Costa del Sol, walking distance from the sea, balcony or terrace and in case of greater distance from the sea to have a swimming pool.
A reliable property management agency is also key, and there are many of them on the market, but only a few are really reliable. These agencies take care of handing over keys, cleaning, minor repairs, or even transfers or collecting refundable deposits. They also offer periodic checks on your properties when they are not in use.
In Spain, the laws related to the issuance of tourist licenses are currently changing, so always consult this option directly with your trusted real estate agent or real estate agency.
